I want to write

I have thoughts that I want to share. I think everyone does. But the platform doesn't seem to exist. Twitter would be the best fit because anyone could write random thoughts on there. But the length is too short.

What I'm going for is a place where I can write random thoughts without needing to care about monetization or publicity or follows, likes, views, comments, or shares. I don't care about SEO or keyword ranking. I want to write as much as I want to write, and no more. I want to write about the topics that interest me and not be beholden to a specific niche. If no one see this, that's fine.

Seth Godin's blog seems to do something similar, where his posts are seemingly random. However, his all tie back to the theme of human psychology and behavior. If I have a certain topic in the back of my mind like "language learning", then all my posts here will feel forced. I don't want that.

So, I'm going to write how I want about the topics that interest me. I'm not going to edit the posts, they'll probably be full of rambling nonsense, typos, and grammatical mistakes. That's fine. Maybe I'll go crazy and intentionally end a sentence without a period

Yeah, now I'm living on the edge

But maybe there will be a small group of people who do care about these random thoughts. They will visit English Tea Break because they want to improve their English. Maybe this journal can be framed as a way to give them additional English reading practice. This isn't meant to be written in perfect English, but that's part of the practice. Luckily, my casual way of writing is still fairly polished. it cud b worse.

K, rules:

  1. Topics: whatever I'm interested in. Ignore SEO. Explore fun ideas. It'll be like a diary, kinda.
  2. Length: short. 500 words or less (unless I want to write more)
  3. Editing: No, that shit's tedious.
  4. Tone: real and unprofessional. Casual.
  5. Cadence: whenever. I could post 10 times a day, or 10 times a year.
  6. Audience: It's meant to be self-indulgent. This is my space, I'm writing because I want to. But if anyone gets some value out of it, cool!

Let's see how this thing goes...
